Only three times since 1997 have we failed to complete: twice we withdrew for client reasons that were outside our control; and once because the role was so narrow that it was not of interest to suitable people. Our success record is 96%.
We believe in giving clients value for money. Instead of our reward being based on a percentage of the pay agreed with the appointee, the amount of our fee is agreed before the start of the assignment, and is based on the complexity of the assignment and our estimate of the time and resources required to complete it. This fixed fee arrangement not only avoids conflicts of interest but also enables us to play an active role in pay negotiations. Finally, our fee is payable in three equal instalments: one third on authorization by our client to proceed; one third on presentation of a ‘shortlist’ of suitable candidates; and one third when an appointment is made.
Our out of pocket expenses are usually waived unless they exceed more than 2% of our fee.
