A Search Consultant since 1985, Stuart founded Stuart Glass Consulting (‘SGC’) in 1997 after 12 years with The Willis Partnership where he was co-owner from 1987 to 1997.

Soon after founding his own firm, Stuart was ‘dubbed’ the ‘archetypical networker’ and ‘the headhunter who cares about the heads he hunts’. This was because of his relational approach to his work. Today, SGC’s research is founded on sourcing the many industry friends the team has made over the years. Hence SGC’s market knowledge, network of contacts and databases are extensive.

Stuart started to specialise in Institutional Investment in 1987. Today, he works closely with his colleague, Fiona Hope, whose experience in Institutional Investment began in 1986. Prior to joining Stuart, she was a Senior Client Director with Merrill Lynch Investment Management, before moving to JP Morgan Asset Management and finally Deutsche Asset Management.

As SGC has been a Member of the National Association of Pension Funds since 1998, Stuart and Fiona attend national conferences and regional meetings. They also participate in many other formal and informal industry gatherings, occasionally speaking on ‘people matters’ and conducting behavioural research for clients.

The cornerstone of the way SGC works is Stuart’s Christian faith. Stuart and Fiona aim never to misrepresent the facts or promise more than they can deliver. Discretion, professionalism and confidentiality are foremost considerations. They have always work on a retained ‘fixed fee’ basis, not on a percentage, thus avoiding conflicts of interest. They aim to treat those with whom they deal in the same way as they like to be treated themselves. They also accept that they are human and therefore not quite perfect!
